Head of Albert II wearing glasses on the left within a circle in the center, monogram and date on the right, all surrounded by 12 stars.
Map of Europe on the left, six stars at the top and six stars at the bottom connected by vertical lines, denomination on the right.
An extremely rare Belgian 10-centime coin featuring a edge with thin, closely spaced grooves. The edge should be indented and feature wide grooves. This is also the first type, featuring the first portrait of the sovereign and the first map of Europe. The edge has been modified so that people with visual impairments can identify them by touch and distinguish them from other euro cents.

An “MS(63)” quality
As in numismatics it is important that the state of conservation of an item be carefully evaluated before it is offered to a discerning collector with a keen eye.
This initially obscure acronym comprising two words describing the state of conservation is explained clearly here:
Mint State(63)
This means – more prosaically – that it is very unlikely that the coin has circulated, even among few and careful hands. Traces of any manipulations are practically imperceptible and no patina or other form of oxidation has altered the object’s brilliance.
