Profile to the right, of Apollonian origin. Hair formed by S-shaped locks with spiral coils. On the cheek, an ornament resembling a spiral earring.
The base of the neck is decorated with two S-shaped volutes.
Horse galloping or leaping to the right. In front of its chest, a bird standing. Above, as a charioteer, a boar to right. Below, a bow with an arrow nocked, with double fletching, pierces the horse's stomach. All around, raised pattern. The exergue line is dotted, below, a pattern of alternating horizontal and vertical chevrons imitating the Greek legend “ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ.”
An attractive example, on a particularly wide blank: the simulated legend is completely visible, which is rarely seen on the few known examples. A very rare coin, in good condition and featuring all known iconographic elements.

As in numismatics it is important that the state of conservation of an item be carefully evaluated before it is offered to a discerning collector with a keen eye.

This means – more prosaically – that the coin has circulated well from hand to hand and pocket to pocket but the impact on its wear remains limited: the coins retains much of its mint luster, sharp detailing and little sign of being circulated. Closer examination with the naked eye reveals minor scratches or nicks.
