Detailed description

Stylized head on the right with elaborate hair characterized by horizontal rolls represented by parallel vertical strands, terminated by curved motifs. Around the effigy, beaded cords terminate in a small human head looking to the right. Androcephalic horse on the right; above, the arm of an charioteer holding a whip, represented by a line ending in front of the horse in a horizontal line. Below, a “ barrière d'hippodrome (racetrack fence)” motif, composed of three vertical lines linked at the top and bottom by an inwardly curved line.

This means – more prosaically – that the coin has circulated well from hand to hand and pocket to pocket but the impact on its wear remains limited: the coins retains much of its mint luster, sharp detailing and little sign of being circulated. Closer examination with the naked eye reveals minor scratches or nicks.
