PLEASE NOTE: this collector's item is unique. We therefore cannot guarantee its availability over time and recommend that you do not delay too long in completing your purchase if you are interested.
Profile to right, of Apollonian origin, with prognathic chin, locks of hair close to the face in crescents, the rest of the hair is made up of flame-like locks. Before the face, a small S-shaped hair lock.
Androcephalic horse on the right surmounted by an charioteer, holding the reins in one hand and brandishing his hand or a wreath in the other. Below, an hippophoric figure, head turned to the right and arms outstretched.
This is a very fine example of one of these extremely rare 1/4 stater with the hippophoric figure. Very well centred, we can see all the details of the motifs on this coin belonging to this group, whose attribution is shared between the Namnetes and Veneti tribes, in western France.

As in numismatics it is important that the state of conservation of an item be carefully evaluated before it is offered to a discerning collector with a keen eye.
This initially obscure acronym comprising two words describing the state of conservation is explained clearly here:
Extremely Fine
This means – more prosaically – that the coin has circulated well from hand to hand and pocket to pocket but the impact on its wear remains limited: the coins retains much of its mint luster, sharp detailing and little sign of being circulated. Closer examination with the naked eye reveals minor scratches or nicks.
