Erasmus, 500th Anniversary of "The Praise of Folly".
The inner part of the coin shows Erasmus writing his book on the right and the effigy of Queen Beatrix to the left. The two images are separated by the vertical inscription "Beatrix Koningin der Nederlanden". The year "2011", the Mint master’s mark and the mintmark are positioned horizontally near the center of the coin. The coin’s outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European Union.
A map, next to the face value, shows the European continent without borders.

An “MS(63)” quality
As in numismatics it is important that the state of conservation of an item be carefully evaluated before it is offered to a discerning collector with a keen eye.
This initially obscure acronym comprising two words describing the state of conservation is explained clearly here:
Mint State(63)
This means – more prosaically – that it is very unlikely that the coin has circulated, even among few and careful hands. Traces of any manipulations are practically imperceptible and no patina or other form of oxidation has altered the object’s brilliance.
