Cleaned, the coin is covered by a beautifull dark-grey patina.\n\nAppointed satrap of Bactria by Alexander, Sophytes retained considerable autonomy after the death of the great king and under the early Seleucids. He produced a small series of coins probably around 305-294 BC.
