Made only in 1717 for the Paris mint, this divisional was struck only on a new flans and during a particularly short period. Our copy is dated in the second half of the year, as evidenced by the dot under the L of LVD. Adjustment marks are visible on the reverse at 9 o'clock and in the lower left corner, but this does not detract from the exceptional condition of this beautiful coin, which has retained much of its luster.
